What is DISC?

DISC is a personality assessment tool used by Wopodo to match job seekers and employers on more than 80 dimensions of workplace compatibility. This four-quadrant behavioral model is based on the work of William Moultan Marson, Ph.D. to examine and predict the behavior of individuals in their environment or within a specific situation.

The analysis portion of the DISC assessment focuses on the strengths, characteristics, motivations, and communication preferences of each behavioral style blend. The DISC Personality System has become known as "The universal language of behavior" over the years because it is so widely accepted.

The four personality dimensions identified by the DISC assessment:

D = Dominance The higher this dimension, the more a person likes to take lead roles, is driven, determined, and a risk taker.
I = Influence The higher this dimension, the more a person likes social environment, enjoys persuading, relating, and communicating.
S = Steadiness The higher this dimension, the more a person has the capacity to be patient, practical, steady, persistent, and empathetic.
C = Compliance The higher this dimension, the more a person needs and exhibits structure, organization, logic, facts, processes, and high standards.

The chart below helps put the four dimensions of the personality into perspective.
